I have survived another week. *yawnstretch* And not too much the worse for wear, I might add.
Work was hectic as per usual. The last two weeks I’ve been doing some back up work for a co-worker who’s out, adding alot more to my plate than just my regular duties of answering the switchboard, and greeting & signing in clients. It hasn’t been bad, but I’ll be happy come Monday when I don’t have to worry about all these extra responsibilites.
Last weekend Craig purchased an RC truck, a Traxxas Revo 3.3. It’s pretty cool, and he’s been pretty much obsessedly happy with it since he got it! I hope to post a video quite soon so you all can check it out. It’s wicked fast, and it’s fun watching it zip up and down the street, and fly over jumps and ramps and stuff.
Been spending alot of time at Durand Eastman Park on the weekends when we can. It’s really nice to take the dog there, and hike the trails. This morning we went, and after hiking a bit, went over to walk on the lakeshore, letting Bishy play in the water. It was a really nice day, though overcast, and the beach was completely empty. The air smelled really fresh and great and clean, and the misty yumminess of it all just made me miss the ocean. Of course, once we got home, we had to give Bish a bath, as he was all sandy and smelling like lake water. We had a really wonderful time.
The rest of the day was spent running from Kmart to Target to Bed Bath & Beyond trying to find some appropriately shabby chic sheets & pillow shams to match (or not match exactly) the beautiful double wedding ring quilt that Craig’s mom made for us as a wedding gift. We had absolutely no success. *grr-sigh* Everything I liked was outlandishly expensive-so much so that we might as well buy an entire comforter set for the same price. It sucks because Craig’s parents will be here staying with us next weekend, and in preparing the spare room for their visit, I really wanted to use that quilt. Also, loving the whole shabby chic thing, I really wanted to do it in that style-all ruffles, and unmatching yet matching florals & patterns in pale pinks, and ivorys, and light blues. We ended up coming home with nothing really except some new dishtowels, and some additional plants for the aquarium. *bites lip* I’ll figure something out. The wedding quilt used to hang on the wall in our living room at our old apartment, but with the dog I didn’t dare risk it here, so it’s been put away since we bought our house. I’ve told Craig that the minute it goes on the bed-we have to close the door, and keep the cats out of the room-I want no chance of anything biological ending up on the quilt. 😛
We also have to clean house, and I have about a ton of laundry that needs to get done tomorrow. I’m thinking if I do a little bit of something each day, I won’t totally wear myself out and into a RA flare. It’s totally like me to try and cram everything into one day, and then be exhausted and painful for the next several days. I’m really going to try and watch myself though, keeping within my limits & monitoring my stress level. Craig will also be doing alot to help get things done, so it shouldn’t be too bad.
*yawn* Tired now…
