I haven’t posted to my poor, sad, little neglected blog since September 1st. Yikes. That’s just shameful. What have I been doing, you might wonder? Well you know, working, and reading, watching the new Fall season on TV, and I’ve been home sick the last three days with the most awful cold, and, and oh, I went to see the Sabres last weekend, and let’s see….well, I’m sure you get the point. I’ve been doing a whole heck of alot of not posting.
So, to light a fire under my ass, so to speak, I’ve signed up again this year for NaBloPoMo. What that means for me is 30 straight days of random blog posts in November, and if that weren’t enough self-inflicted torture, I’ve also signed up for NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month.
This is my first NaNoWriMo, and so I wanted to break it down for myself a little. What we’re talking about here is 30 days & 50,000 words. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. Broken down per day, we’re looking at approximately 1667 words/6 pages daily (double spaced). Yikes.
I’m excited, and confident. Sure, that may be the cold meds talking, but I think I can do this. I guess we’ll find out in short order, huh? November is just around the corner.
